"The Other Dream Team" - documentary that every lithuanian is waiting for. Must see for sure.

In 1992, the United States sent The Dream Team, the greatest basketball team ever assembled, to the Olympic games in Barcelona.  They were expected to dominate and win the gold - and that’s exactly what they did.

However, at the same Olympics, there was another basketball team from a newly independent nation that was chasing a different kind of dream.  Lithuania, a country of only 3 million people, won the bronze medal in Barcelona by beating Russia, their former oppressor.  After 50 years of struggling for freedom behind the Iron Curtain, David had beaten Goliath.  World politics and basketball had come full circle.

The Other Dream Team is an inspirational documentary about the Lithuanian National Basketball team and its athletes.  From the 4 Lithuanians who won gold for the Soviet Union in the Seoul Olympics in ‘88 to the unique partnership with the Grateful Dead in ’92 in Barcelona, the documentary will capture the team’s journey, emotions, struggles, personal stories, and ultimately - their triumph as a newly free nation.
